About DiveToolbox

Our Mission

DiveToolbox was born from a simple idea: powerful dive planning tools should be accessible to every diver. Built by active divers who understand the real-world demands of dive planning, every feature comes from firsthand experience underwater — from recreational reef dives to deep technical expeditions.

Safety First

Safety is at the core of everything we do. Our decompression algorithms are based on the industry-standard Bühlmann ZH-L16C model with configurable gradient factors, giving you the precision and conservatism controls that professional divers demand. We believe that accurate, reliable tools contribute to safer diving for everyone.

The Science Behind the Tools

DiveToolbox uses the Bühlmann ZH-L16C decompression algorithm, developed by Professor Albert A. Bühlmann at the University of Zurich. This model simulates 16 tissue compartments with different half-times to calculate safe ascent profiles for air, nitrox, trimix, and heliox dives. Enhanced with gradient factors (GF Low / GF High), it gives divers fine-grained control over decompression conservatism.

DiveToolbox is developed and operated by Onosia EURL, a French company dedicated to building tools for the diving community. Based in France, we serve divers worldwide in 7 languages.

Technology

DiveToolbox is built with modern web technologies for speed, reliability, and security. Our stack includes React, TypeScript, and a Python backend with the Django framework. The application is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices.
